WARDLE - New bus service for Knutton residents

New bus service for Knutton residents

A new bus service for the Knutton area has been introduced following discussions with Staffordshire County Council and Wardle’s.

The new service will be operated by Wardle’s (part of Arriva) and will start on Monday 28 October 2013.

The service will link Newcastle and Keele University, operating via Milehouse, Knutton and Silverdale and will run from Monday to Friday.

Staffordshire County Councillor Simon Tagg, Cabinet Support Member for Transport and Connected County said:

“Following extensive discussions between the Council’s transport team, local County Councillor Derrick Huckfield and Wardle’s, we are pleased to announce the new service.  The route will be operated as a commercial service, providing a vital link for local residents and commuters.”

Keith Myatt, Regional Marketing and Communications Manager for Wardle Transport said: “We have worked in close partnership with Staffordshire County Council, local County Councillor Derrick Huckfield and are delighted to be able to divert our service 28 around Knutton on Mondays to Fridays; we will consider a future Saturday service for Knutton if we consider it to be commercially viable.

Details of all local bus services can be found at www.wardletransport.com and from traveline on 0871 200 22 33.”

Travel information will be made available shortly and can be found at www.traveline.info
